I'm Still Here!

Greetings Bloggers!
So I know what you are probably thinking...she is not committed to this blog.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  I actually think about my blog often but find myself getting side tracked with the dog days of summer  (ie: boating and boating and more boating).
To prove that I am still committed to blogging, I have linked up with Oh' Boy Fourth Grade and the August Currently.

Resources for State Assessments (Making the Best of It)

We are officially in assessment season and it is time to review some of those vital skills and concepts that are students will need on assessment day(s).
Checkout one of my latest additions to my TpT store.  This is a 14 pages mini booklet that prints four to a page.  This booklet focuses on multiplication and division number stories.  It highlights identifying the operational vocabulary when solving a number story.  State assessments are right around the corner (eek!) and this resource is a great way to help prepare your students.
Best wishes to your students on those testing days!

Spring and IEPs

Happy Spring Everyone.
It really is a great time of year now that I have completed the bulk of my IEPs for annual review.  This last month I was faced with the overwhelming challenge to write 18 IEPs and have 18 pre-IEP conferences with parents!  Since then, I have added 4 more students to my caseload so I have an additional four more IEPs to write by the end of June.  I guess writing four will be a walk in the park compared to the 18 I have already written.
It can be a real challenge to keep all of the information organized when creating an IEP for each child that I work with.  I have created a template that helps me stay organized with all of the testing, data, etc. that I am collecting to write these documents.  My template is very simple but it really does help me stay organized to some degree.
Let me know what you think.

Blog Bug- Making a QR Code for Your Classroom

Greetings fellow teacher bloggers!
I have officially caught the teacher blogging bug and loving it.
One of the first resources/ ideas that I wanted to share is how to make a QR code for your classroom. I use this technology for my parents to gain immediate access to my contact information.  Parents can use their smart phones to read the QR code and download the information.
I went to a workshop at my school district over the summer and one of the things that they showed us was how to make a QR code.  There are many FREE QR code generator websites out there to help you do this.  I prefer www.quikqr.com/ .
Checkout the poster that I created using this technology.  It is posted right outside my classroom door.
